POWER CONVERTER USING FIXED DUTY CONVERTER AND VARIABLE DUTY CONVERTER

PURPOSE: A power converter is provided to reduce the weight and volume of a linear power supply device by using a fixed drop down voltage linear regulator. CONSTITUTION: A DC-DC converter(220) changes the output voltage of a power factor improving converter(210) to a different voltage level. A linear regulator(230) is connected to the rear terminal of the DC-DC converter and drops the DC power outputted from the DC-DC converter with a preset level. An input terminal of a controller(240) is connected to the output terminal of the linear regulator. The output terminal of the controller is connected to the power factor improving converter. The controller improves a power factor by comparing the output of the linear regulator with a reference voltage.
