PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoelectric conversion material, having high performance higher than conventional performance, which uses a filled skutterudite compound having a high Yb filling rate (large lattice constant). SOLUTION: The high-performance thermoelectric conversion material is a filled skutterudite compound such that a gap of a unit lattice of a skutterudite compound CoSb<SB>3</SB>is filled with Yb, a lattice constant of crystal thereof is≥9.05Å, and the system and the structure of the filled skutterudite compound are in a CoSb<SB>3</SB>single phase. The high-performance thermoelectric conversion material is manufactured by a manufacturing method including a first step of weighing a raw material, a second step of fusing the weighed material to obtain an ingot material, a third step of powdering the ingot material to obtain a sintering material, and a fourth step of pressing and heating the sintering material to obtain a sintered body.
