PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection image display device that facilitates transportation of a housing. SOLUTION: The housing 200 of the projection image display device 100 includes a first housing 201 housing at least a light source unit 110, a DMD 500 and a projection unit 150, and a second housing 202 housing at least a cooling unit 130. The housing 201 is provided separately from the second housing 202. The second-housing-side sidewall 271 of the first housing 201 has a coupling part 610 coupling the cooling unit 130 in a horizontal direction parallel to a projection surface 300. The projection unit 150 is housed at a position deviated to the side of the second-housing-side sidewall 271 of the first housing 201 in the horizontal direction parallel to the projection surface 300.
