PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make color range after a color conversion process as wide as possible, while preventing winding of paper around an image carrier. SOLUTION: An image formed by image data after a preliminary image processing is divided into a plurality of areas (step S2). A 3D-LUT with a lower upper limit value in the image data, after the color conversion process is selected (step S6), when an area in which the number of pixels with total of pixel value (total of YMCK) that are threshold value T1 or more is a threshold H1 or more is present among the plurality of ranges (YES in step S5). Meanwhile, a 3D-LUT with a higher upper limit value in the image data after the color conversion process is selected (step S8), when the area in which the number of pixels with the total of pixel values that are the threshold value T1 and more is the threshold H1 or more is not present (NO in step S5, YES in step S7).
