PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator placed so that its axis is approximately horizontal, wherein the temperature of a stator core can be suppressed from becoming nonuniform in the axial or circumferential direction. SOLUTION: Anchoring protrusions 40 are formed in protrusion at portions in the circumferential direction of a cylinder-like body 30 of a stator core 21 over the whole area in the axial direction of the body 30 and on the outer side in the diameter direction regarding an outer circumferential surface 31 of the body. The anchoring protrusion 40 that has the uppermost part of an outer circumferential surface 42 of the protrusion located level equal to or lower than the horizontal plane that passes through the uppermost part of the outer circumferential surface 31, and which does not have the uppermost part of the outer circumferential surface 42 match the border with the outer circumferential surface 31, is made to be the target protrusion 41. There is provided a sealing member 50 that forms a sealing wall 51 which is mounted on both ends in the axial direction of the stator core 21 and which has a height equal to or higher than the horizontal plane that passes through the uppermost part of the outer circumferential surface 42, and a recess surrounded by the outer circumferential surface 42, the outer circumferential surface 31, and the sealing wall 51 is used as a coolant accumulation recess 60 for accumulating the coolant in the stator 20.
