PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool capable of preventing retention of wash balls at a stagnating section of an inlet-side water chamber of a condenser, and being easily demounted according to necessity though it can be firmly fixed to the water chamber. SOLUTION: This wash ball retention prevention tool 40 includes a frame 42 formed into the shape surrounding the stagnating section 23 of the inlet-side water chamber 20, a magnet 44 for fixing the frame 42 in the inlet-side water chamber 20, and a guard net 46 covering an in-frame area surrounded by the frame 42. The stagnating section 23 is a part near a closed area 36 of the inlet-side tube plate 16, of the inlet-side water chamber 20, and is a part where it is confirmed that the seawater hardly flows as a result of an experiment and the like.
