PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power tool having a simple structure and capable of detecting the locked state of the motor. SOLUTION: This power tool 1 includes a rotatably driving motor 2, a rotation detection part 3 for detecting the rotation of the motor 2, an electric power supply detection part for detecting the supply of electric power to the motor 2, and a control unit 5 for determining the locked state of the motor 2 from the results of the detection by the both detection parts. The rotation detection part 3 detects the rotation of the motor 2 from the radiant noise or propagation noise generated from the motor 2. Consequently, the rotation detection part 3 can be disposed without changing the design of a path for supplying electric power to the motor 2, the internal structure can be prevented from being complicated, the ease of handling can be prevented from being deteriorated, and the locked state of the motor 2 can be detected.
