<p>An airbag has a three-dimensional structure capable of more stably restraining the occupant while bearing a pressing force applied to the airbag by the occupant when the airbag is inflated and expanded. An airbag (1) formed into a bag body by sewing a cut part, the bag body having an upper wall section (4), two side wall sections (5, 6), a lower wall section (3), and a contact wall section (2). The cut part (12) for a body is shaped so that, when the airbag is inflated and expanded, a protruding section (4f) which protrudes outward in a gable-roof shape is formed at a part of the upper wall section (4) in the longitudinal direction thereof. For example, the airbag (1) is an airbag provided to the front passenger seat, and the cut part (12) can be formed in such a manner that, when the airbag (1) is mounted in a vehicle and is inflated and expanded, an upper wall upper half section (4d) which is that portion of the upper wall section (4) which is above the protruding section (4f) makes contact with the front windshield glass (202).</p> |
