PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a porous bulb metal anode body. SOLUTION: A laminate is obtained by forming a mixed film comprising bulb metal and a hetero-phase component having no compatibility with the bulb metal on at least one surface of a bulb metal foil power collection body. Heat treatment of the obtained laminate is performed, and then the hetero-phase component of the mixed film is removed, thereby a bulb metal porous layer is obtained. In the process of manufacturing a porous bulb metal anode body by performing anode-oxidizing of the obtained bulb metal porous layer, the removal of the hetero-phase component of the mixed film after the heat treatment is performed with nitric acid, whose solution temperature is≥20°C and≤60°C and whose density is≥0.1 mol/L and <4.0 mol/L, and is successively performed with nitric acid, whose solution temperature is≥20°C and≤60°C and whose density is≥4.0 mol/L and≤10.0 mol/L.
