PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate and shorten engineering work. SOLUTION: An engineering support device includes: a storage unit 32, preliminarily storing a plurality of template programs 50 graphically displaying a typical target system having an un-set area in which target equipment is not selected and describing the program performing overall control corresponding to the target system and a plurality of symbol correspondence program modules 52 graphically displaying symbols indicating target equipment settable in the un-set area and describing the control for the target equipment; and an engineering support control unit 40 displaying a template selection screen, graphically displaying the typical target system corresponding to a selected one template program, graphically displaying the target equipment settable in the un-set area of the target system, and if the symbols have been set in the un-set area, generating the overall control program into which the control of the target equipment corresponding to the symbols inserted.
