<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool capable of accurately measuring the diameter of a workpiece while properly protecting a sensor. <P>SOLUTION: A turret lathe 100 for machining a workpiece 12 held by a spindle 2 includes a turret tool post 7 which is moved forward and backward relative to the spindle 2 and has a plurality of tool mounting surfaces 10, a sensor 24 for measuring the dimensions of the workpiece 12, an arm 122 which holds the sensor 24, is attached to one of the plurality of tool mounting surfaces 10, and increases/reduces a sensor distance, which is the radial distance of the turret tool post 7 between the tool mounting surface 10 and the sensor 24, and a cover 125 which covers the upper side of at least a part of the sensor 24 and is attached to the turret tool post 7. An opening 125a which allows at least a part of the sensor 24 to come out of the cover 125 when the sensor distance is increased and reduced and which is opened at all times is formed in the cover 125. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
