PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device having a panel structure capable of narrowing a frame of a display panel, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: In the light-emitting device structured of a plurality of display panels arrayed in two dimensions, each display panel includes a structure jointing a pixel array substrate 10 and opposed substrate 20 having the same outer shape and dimension through a sealing material BND so as to match end parts of a whole periphery of each other. On the pixel array substrate 10, a plurality of display pixels PIX are arrayed in a display area 12, and a plurality of signal wires connected with each display pixel PIX are arranged. The opposed substrate 20 is provided with pixel array connection pads 22s, 22a, 22d arrayed on one surface side so as to correspond to an end part of each signal wire, and an IC chip 26 connected with each pixel array connection pad 22s, 22a, 22d through pulling-around wires 23s, 23a, 23d are mounted on the other surface side.
