PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent successive processing of the next order such as an image recording operation from being executed under a poor mounting condition, and to prevent such inconveniences as poor supply of ink, breakage of an ink supply part and poor determination on classification caused by poor mounting from occurring. SOLUTION: A slide member 135 and an optical sensor 126 are provided on a cartridge case 110. A projected member 76 projecting from a front wall 40 is provided on an ink cartridge 30. In a process in which the ink cartridge 30 is inserted into the cartridge case 110, when the projected member 76 pushes the slide member 135 to move it into the depth side, this slide member 135 is detected by the optical sensor 126. When the slide member 135 is moved, the ink cartridge 30 is energized by a coil spring 139. Under a condition that the ink cartridge 30 is mounted at an ink feeding position, only when the projected member 76 is detected based on the signal of the optical sensor 126, a control part 90 executes the successive processing such as the image recording operation.
