PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide upper structure of a vehicle body capable of securing rigidity, capable of reducing the number of part items, and capable of reducing assembling working man-hours. SOLUTION: In this upper structure 15 of the vehicle body, a roof rail 26 is formed on a closed cross section by an upper member 31 and a lower member 32, an upper junction end part 45 of the upper member is projected to a vehicle body outside more than a lower junction end part 46 of the lower member, and is formed on a closed cross section by an inner member 51 and an outer member 52 of the center pillar 27, an outer junction end part 66 of the outer member is extended up to the upper junction end part, an inner junction end part 73 of the inner member is extended up to the lower junction end part, the upper junction end part is joined to the outer junction end part, the lower junction end part is joined to the inner junction end part, and each closed cross section is thereby made continuous in a junction part 28 of each junction end part.
