PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jet head which improves the stiffness of a piezoelectric material layer, and simultaneously, well secures the adhesion of the piezoelectric material layer to an upper electrode film when the upper electrode is made a common electrode. SOLUTION: In the liquid jet head, while a lower electrode 60 is independently provided correspondingly to a pressure generation chamber and forms a discrete electrode of a piezoelectric element 300, the upper electrode 80 is continuously provided across the adjacently providing direction of the pressure generation chamber and forms the common electrode of the piezoelectric element. Furthermore, one end of the piezoelectric material layer 70 in the longitudinal direction is located more outside then one end of the lower electrode in the longitudinal direction. Moreover the liquid jet head has; discrete portions 70A provided corresponding to each of the lower electrodes; widened portions 70B integrally connected to each of the discrete portions and gradually increasing the width toward the one end in the longitudinal direction of the pressure generation chamber; and common portions 70C which are integrally connected to each of the widened portions and with which the piezoelectric material layer of the piezoelectric element adjacent thereto in the adjacently providing direction is integrated on at least the one end side of the piezoelectric material layer.
