PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic atomization apparatus which efficiently cools a discharge electrode by reducing heat loss when cooling it by cold energy from a cooling means and prevents dew condensation water from being formed inside a storage chamber thereby stably performing electrostatic atomization. SOLUTION: The electrostatic atomization apparatus 4 includes the discharge electrode 1, the cooling means 2 for cooling the discharge electrode 1 and condensing moisture in air on the discharge electrode 1 to supply water to the discharge electrode 1, and a high voltage application means 3 for applying a high voltage to the water of the discharge electrode 1. The water supplied to the discharge electrode 1 is electrostatically atomized by the application of the high voltage to generate charged particulate water.
