摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve precision in measuring the occurrence of arc discharge irrespective of day and night. SOLUTION: A light receiving device includes a visible light transmission unit which is provided between the inside and the outside of a vehicle and allows visible light out of light made incident into the vehicle from the outside thereof to pass therethrough, an ultraviolet ray transmission unit which is provided on an optical path of the light made incident into the vehicle via the visible light transmission unit and in the outside of the vehicle and allows only an ultraviolet ray out of the incident light to pass therethrough, a visible light conversion unit which is provided between the ultraviolet ray transmission unit and the visible light transmission unit and converts the ultraviolet ray passing through the ultraviolet ray transmission unit into the visible light to pass it therethrough, a light receiving unit which is installed in the vehicle toward the direction facing the vicinity of a contact between a pantograph and a trolley wire via the ultraviolet ray transmission unit, the visible light conversion unit and the visible light transmission unit and receives only the visible light via the ultraviolet ray transmission unit, the visible light conversion unit and the visible light transmission unit, and a visible light region transmission medium which transmits the visible light received by the light receiving unit.
