<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which can obtain a substance containing calcium carbonate useful, for example, as a papermaking filler as a main component by removing carbon components of colorants at a high elimination rate from limestone and further can reduce the amount of water necessary for the treatment and the amount of discharged water even when only one kind of chemical is used in the floatation. <P>SOLUTION: The method for removing the impurities of limestone includes following processes: (A) pulverized limestone containing the carbon components as impurities is mixed with water to obtain a slurry; (B) the slurry obtained in the process (A) is mixed with an alcohol-based deinking agent to obtain the slurry containing the deinking agent; (C) the slurry obtained in the process (B) is subjected to floatation treatment to obtain floating ore containing the carbon components and sinking ore containing calcium carbonate; (D) a concentrated slurry and a supernatant are obtained by performing concentration of the floating ore and the sinking ore; and (E) the supernatant is used as water in the process (A). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
