<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program which receives a request to a peripheral device even when the peripheral device is updating firmware without using any special hardware, and to provide an information processing system and an information processing apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: When a printer updates firmware, a control section changes an IP address of the printer into a temporary IP address from a unique IP address for normal operation (S202) and starts a virtual server which has the unique IP address (S203). During start-up of the virtual server, if the printer receives an inquiry about status information, the virtual server transmits the status information obtained before firmware update and notifies that the firmware is being updated. When print data is transmitted to the printer, the virtual server receives and saves the print data, and then transmits it to the printer when the firmware update of the printer ends (S213). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
