PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a PDP effectively preventing or reducing a crack in an electrode direction which can occur after forming a dielectric layer. SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of the plasma display panel including a front panel having a substrate formed with a display electrode, a dielectric layer, and a protective layer thereon, the display electrode includes a plurality of electrode pairs each consisting a transparent electrode and a bus electrode, and the dielectric layer is formed through the steps of (i) preparing a dielectric raw material containing a glass component and an organic solvent, (ii) supplying the dielectric raw material only between the bus electrodes and removing the organic solvent from the supplied dielectric raw material to form a first dielectric precursor, (iii) supplying the dielectric raw material onto the first dielectric precursor and removing the organic solvent from the supplied dielectric raw material to form a second dielectric precursor, and (iv) subjecting the first dielectric precursor and the second dielectric precursor to heat treatment to form the dielectric layer.
