PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly determine a jammed medium, and to remove the medium in a short time. SOLUTION: A medium processor 5 has a plurality of bill detection means S1-S36 each detecting a bill in a conveying path for conveying the bill, and detects a failure by detection signals from the bill detection means S1-S36. The medium processor 5 is provided with: a storage part 23 storing the probability that a bill remains due to a failure for each of the plurality of sections a-e between the bill detection means (S16) and the adjacent bill detection means (S21); and a display part 24 displaying each section a-e based on the probability when a failure of the medium occurs between the bill detection means (S16) and the adjacent bill detection means (S21).
