LASH ADJUSTER SUPPORT STRUCTURE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate manufacturing of a lash adjuster retention structure for an internal combustion engine by supporting a lash adjuster at high stiffness and reduce weight of the structure. SOLUTION: A lash adjuster holder 7 retaining the hydraulic lash adjuster 6 is fixed at a lower side of a cam journal support section 4 of a cam housing. A pair of hook shape sections 13 are formed on the lash adjuster holder 7. A connecting section 11 is formed on the cam journal support section 4. A lash adjuster holder 7 is fastened to a cam journal support part 4 by inserting the connecting section 11 formed between the pair of the hook shape sections 13. Oil is supplied to the hydraulic lash adjuster 6 through an oil passage 12 formed at the cam journal support section 4 and an oil passage 15 formed at the lash adjuster holder 7.
