PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and implement, which enable the accurate checking of the center position of a soil cement column by accurately and surely specifying the center position of the soil cement column by simple operations. SOLUTION: In the method for checking the center position of the soil cement column, a rod 2 is inserted into the center position P of the top surface Sa of the soil cement column S before hardening from the side of the leading end of the rod 2, while a vertical state of the rod 2 is maintained. After the rod 2 is inserted until the leading end of the rod 2 reaches a position deeper than the cutting level L1 of the soil cement column S, the rod 2 is pulled out, and a position specifying object 4 is left on the soil cement column S. After a lapse of a curing period of the soil cement column S, the upper end Sb of the soil cement column S is cut to the cutting level L1 depending on the depth of embedment of a building foundation. In this case, the center position P of the soil cement column S can be visually checked with ease on the basis of the position specifying object 4 left in the soil cement column S.
