PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily advance an insertion section even in a complicatedly curved tube such as the sigmoid colon while securing the visual field at the distal end of the insertion section. SOLUTION: The actuator for the intratubular mobile body includes: an assist device which is freely taken in and out from an opening provided at the distal end of the insertion section to be inserted into the tube, and is freely displaceable between a first position where the distal end portion comes into contact with or approaches to an anterior tube wall located anterior to the opening and a second position located short of the opening; inflatable/deflatable members which are provided at the insertion section and can come into contact with/be separated from the lateral tube wall located laterally to the opening by inflating/deflating; and a control section controlling the operations of the assist device and the inflating/deflating members. The insertion section includes a plurality of portions of an insertion section distal end portion having the opening, a curving portion for freely changing the direction of the insertion section distal end portion, and a flexible portion connected to the curving portion in distal-to-proximal order, and the inflating/deflating members are provided at least at either two portions of the plurality of portions of the insertion section.
