PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heavy object installation method and a device for providing a further simplified mechanism of the device and achieving better construction performance and economical performance than a conventional drawing construction method and coping with even construction of a sharply curved line. SOLUTION: This heavy object installation device is provided with a guide part 5 on a lower face side forward from a position of center of gravity of a base part of a block 1 and casters 6 attached to both sides in the direction of width of a rear end part. H-steel is buried in substantially the center in the direction of width of the block 1 by facing laterally on an upper face of foundation concrete 2 on which the block 1 is laid to form a groove-like rail 3 and to form a bearing 4 by arranging and dispersing steel balls 4a. A guide part 4 of the block 1 is supported by a bearing 4 part and is supported at three points together with two casters 6. The block 1 is drawn by a wire or the like and is horizontally drawn along the rail 3 in this state. Since it is enough with only one rail 3, this installation method is economical. Furthermore, since this device is horizontally drawn while it is supported at one point in the guide part 5 in the front and two points in the rear end part of the caster 6 positions, it is possible to construct the sharply curved line and a bending section smoothly.
