The invention relates to a folding box (1), formed from a blank (2) folder comprising two parallel longitudinal folding lines (3,4) extending across the length of the folder, two transversal folding lines (5,6) extending across the width and between the longitudinal folding lines, for forming a rectangular bottom plane (7) of the folding box (1) defined by the longitudinal (3,4) and transversal (5,6) folding lines (8-11), further diagonal folding lines, extending at an angle with respect to the longitudinal (3,4) and transversal folding (5,6) lines and from the points of contact of the longitudinal and transversal folding lines, and directed away from the bottom plane (7), as well as longitudinal (16-19) respectively transversal (20-23) corner folding lines, extending from the diagonal folding lines (8-10), situated parallel with respect to the longitudinal (3,4) and transversal (5,6) folding lines. According to a variant the invention relates to such a folding box wherein the bottom plane (7) and the longitudinal side faces (12,13) have been folded at two ends. Hereby reinforcement is provided to both the floor and the side faces of the box to be formed.
