<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elastic roller that achieves an initial function over a long term with high heating efficiency, and to provide a fixing device for fixing a developer on a recording body over a long term with high heating efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The elastic roller 1 is provided with a foaming elastic layer 3 formed on an outer peripheral surface of a shaft body 2 and containing silicone rubber and 40 to 100 pts.mass silica-based filler with respect to 100 pts.mass silicone rubber, and has an asker C hardness of 35 to 55 and a heat conductivity of 0.09 to 0.175 (W/mk). The fixing device is provided with a fixing roller, an endless belt wound round the fixing roller, a pressure roller press-contacting with the fixing roller, and a heating means arranged in non-contact with the endless belt and heating the fixing roller, wherein at least one of the fixing roller and the pressure roller is the elastic roller 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
