PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for raising and transporting a planting mat for improving operability in site without damaging plants, and to provide a planting mat. SOLUTION: This method for raising the planting mat 10 set with planting 15 and formed in a belt-like form includes arranging in a raising tray 30 for holding the planting mat, one end 16 of the planting mat on a circumferential border 37 of the raising tray followed by winding so as to expose the planting when viewed in a plane, and arranging the other end 17 of the planting mat in an almost center C of the raising tray when viewed in a plane.
