摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep substantially uniform the temperature of a semiconductor MZ modulator element in the same integrated element with simple configuration even if the temperature of a temperature-controlling variable wavelength laser is changed. SOLUTION: A light transmission device 100 includes: the integrated element 103 on which the semiconductor MZ modulator element 101 and the temperature-controlling variable wavelength laser 102 are integrated; a carrier 104 having an engaging hole 105; and TECs 106 and 107. The integrated element 103 is fixed on the carrier 104, so that a waveguide for connecting the semiconductor MZ modulator element 101 and the temperature-controlling variable wavelength laser 102, both included in the integrated element 103, may be arranged on the engaging hole 105 of the carrier 104.
