PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately obtain a motion vector component from which the motion vector component by zoom is removed (for instance, a motion vector by the shake of an optical instrument) from the motion vector detected during the zoom. SOLUTION: The optical instrument includes: a detection means for detecting a first motion vector from an image obtained through an imaging system capable of zooming; and a control means for controlling the zoom so that the size of a second motion vector generated in the image by the zoom does not exceed the detection possible range of the first motion vector.
