PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a multi-domain liquid crystal display device having excellent side visibility. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a first insulating substrate; a pixel region divided into a first region and a second region on the first substrate; a second insulating substrate facing the first insulating substrate; and a liquid crystal layer placed between the first insulating substrate and the second insulating substrate. Each liquid crystal layer in the first and second regions is divided into a plurality of domains, each of which is defined by an orientation direction of liquid crystal molecules when an electric field is applied.
