PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand only necessary screen according to an instruction of printing control when performing half-tone processing which binarizes multi-valued image data. SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 1 is provided with an interpretation means 11 which interprets a printing control instruction out of printing information D, a selection means 12 which selects or excludes a screen of binarization according to at least resolution, presence of monochrome instructions, and kinds of page description languages with respect to the printing control instruction interpreted by the interpretation means 11, a binarization means 13 which binarizes the page description language in the printing information D using the screen selected by the selection means 12 or the screen which is not excluded.
