PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a button switch-type hook lock for a sliding door, which makes costs low by simplifying a structure and reducing the number of components, enhances durability, and improves the opening/closing operability of the sliding. SOLUTION: A crank arm 30 is formed in such a shape that the distance L of erection between a supporting shaft 55 and an eccentric hole 25 is set long so that a crank angleαswinging between a first position to bring a hook 20 into a locking attitude and a second position to bring the hook into an unlocking attitude requires only a fixed small angle. The crank arm is erected sideways in a lock case 10. An external operation means S includes a structure which makes a fitting protrusion 47 of a button switch 45 fitted into the fitting hole 50 of the crank arm so that the crank arm is directly operated. In locking/unlocking, one side of a pushing plate of an operation plate 46 is pushed, and the button switch is swung to the depth-direction front and rear sides of the lock case. In this case, the crank arm is pushed by the fitting protrusion of the operation plate fitted into the fitting hole, and swung upward and downward in the range of the small crank angle; and the hook is push-turned depending on the swing direction of the crank arm, and displaced in such a manner as to be turned between the locking and unlocking attitudes.
