PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aromatic polyamide fiber which maintains mechanical properties possessed thereby and has excellent flame retardancy and light resistance. SOLUTION: An aromatic polyamide fiber essentially comprises an aromatic polyamide (1) having structural repeating units (1) of a chemical formula 1 and contains 0.1-20 mol% of an aromatic polyamide (2) having structural repeating units (2) of a chemical formula 2.
