PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eyeglass-mounted type image display device applicable to an existing pair of eyeglasses. SOLUTION: The eyeglass-mounted type image display device includes: an image display unit 2a which has an image display panel and is attachable to and detachable from an eyeglass temple 1f; and a light guide unit 2b which makes image light, emitted from the image display panel 2a<SB>1</SB>of the image display unit 2a, incident on an eyeball of a viewer through an incidence end 2b<SB>1</SB>, an optical path, and an emission end 2b<SB>2</SB>.
