The connector has a plug connector part including a primary coil (1), and a mating connector part including a secondary coil inductively connected with the primary coil. The plug connector part is insertable into the mating connector part. The primary coil and the secondary coil are formed as a ring coil whose axial direction corresponds to plug-in connector direction. The primary coil and the secondary coil extend over same axial partial area. U-shaped and/or C-shaped ferrite cores (2) are provided at the periphery of the plug connector part. The connector comprises inner and outer housing parts made of plastic or steel sheet.
