PURPOSE: An one-time using cup scorched rice soup using lotus roots and method for making thereof is provided to manufacture a scorched rice by using polymeric mucilage such as mucin included in a lotus root. CONSTITUTION: A lotus root is cleaned, cut, and dried to form lotus powder, which is added to uncleaned rice, barley, wheat, millet, bean, red-bean, buckwheat, mung beans, and adlay, and then a water is mixed to form kneading. The kneading is gelatinized and is extruded as a lotus root rice of a certain size, which is dried to have a certain moisture content therein.
