<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new controlled-release formulation slowly releasing a compound which is an alkyl ester of a hydroxy-substituted naphthalene derivative. <P>SOLUTION: The controlled-release formulation includes (a) a compressed tablet core containing lovastatin, an osmotic agent and a pharmaceutically acceptable water-swellable polymer, (b) an inner coating containing an enteric polymer selected from the group consisting of hydroxypropylmethylcellulose phthalate, cellulose acetate phthalate, polyvinyl acetate phthalate and methacrylic acid/methacrylate copolymers, and (c) an outer coating containing a mixture of a methacrylic acid/methyl methacrylate copolymer, a channeling agent and a water-insoluble cellulose polymer. The weight ratio of the methacrylic acid/methyl methacrylate copolymer to the water-insoluble cellulose polymer in the outer coating is 0.1:1-0.75:1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
