OPTICAL MODULE AND DISPERSION COMPENSATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To flatten a transmission characteristic of a VIPA plate by applying the same control temperature to an optical filter and a VIPA plate.

SOLUTION: An optical module 10 includes: an optical filter 12 which has transmission characteristics having wavelength periodicity; an optical component 13 which includes a reflecting surface 13a for reflecting light with high reflectance and a transmission surface 13b having lower reflectance than the reflecting surface 13a and repeatedly reflects light emitted from the optical filter 12, in an internal region interposed between the reflecting surface 13a and the transmission surface 13b and emits diffracted output light through the transmission surface 13b; and a temperature control part 15 which controls temperatures of the optical filter 12 and the optical component 13. The temperature control part 15 applies the same control temperature to the optical filter 12 and the optical component 13 to flatten a transmission spectrum shape of output light emitted from the transmission surface 13b.
