PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an optical film capable of manufacturing the optical film, without the use of lapping. SOLUTION: Laser light L<SB>1</SB>is irradiated to a plurality of positions on a substrate film 91 (Fig.15 (A)), to form a plurality of through-holes 91A in the substrate film 91 (Fig.15 (B)), and then a light-reflecting film 92 is formed along a side surface 91D of each through-hole 91A, by using a vacuum vapor deposition method, a sputtering method, or the like (Fig.15 (C)). Next, after at least each through-hole 91A is filled with a liquid energy-curable transparent resin 93D, the substrate film 91 is interposed between two plane plates (a drive panel 70 and a sealing panel 80), facing each other so as to be put on and under them (Fig.15 (D)).
