PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform flushing at low cost while saving a space. SOLUTION: After performing the flushing for discharging an ink to a conveying surface 54 from all discharge ports of an ink-jet head 2 while an image is recorded on the surface with the ink discharged from the ink-jet head 2, paper P is conveyed so that the ink on the conveying surface 54 may be absorbed by the rear surface.
