PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head-mounted image display device which is easy to process and has sufficient strength and removes unnecessary light such as ghost light. SOLUTION: In the head-mounted image display device where light from an image display part 8 is guided to a user's pupil 9 through a plurality of times of internal reflection in a hexagonal prism 7 comprising a first optical surface 1, a second optical surface 2, a third optical surface 3, a fourth optical surface 4, a fifth optical surface 5, and a sixth optical surface 6, the first optical surface and the second optical surface are opposite surfaces approximately parallel with each other, and the third optical surface 3 and the fourth optical surfaces 4 are opposite surfaces not parallel with each other, and light from the image display part 8 is incident on the hexagonal prism 7 from one portion of the first optical surface 1 and is reflected sequentially by the third optical surface 3, the first optical surface 1, the second optical surface 2, the first optical surface 1, and the fourth optical surface 4 and then is emitted from the other portion of the first optical surface, and a first ridgeline part 12 formed by the third optical surface and the second optical surface 2 and a second ridgeline part 13 formed by the fourth optical surface and the second optical surface are subjected to surface treatment of roughening, chamfering, or ink painting.
