A fault diagnosis apparatus which supports the reproduction of a fault according to a fault code representing the relevant fault provided from an electronic control apparatus of a vehicle, and is provided with a means for extracting, from operation data relating to a plurality of operation parameters provided from the electronic control apparatuses of many faulty vehicles, features unique to at least one fault code in the operation data with respect to each of the plurality of operation parameters. This apparatus is further provided with: a means for extracting, from the operation data relating to the plurality of fault codes, a broad feature relating to the plurality of fault codes for each operation parameter; and a means for setting, for at least one fault code, the portion of the features unique to the fault code that has little similarity to the broad feature, as the operation data for reproducing the fault corresponding to the fault code.
