The mechanism (1) has a pivot axle (6) supported in a retaining part (3) as a friction damping unit and comprising a cam disk (4) with a cam (7). A hollow cylinder (5) accommodates the disk, and designed as another friction damping unit, where the cylinder is connected with a comfort part (2). An inner peripheral surface of the cylinder stays in frictional contact with a surface of the cam for formation of a frictionally-engaged rotational contact with the axle. The disk is made from plastic i.e. polyamide 6 with 30 percentages of glass fiber, and the cylinder is made from polyoxymethylene.
