PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin bar storage device improving the accuracy of detection data by a sensor for detecting coin bars stored in a cassette, and reducing a detection time. SOLUTION: The invention is provided with: a carrier that is moved in the length direction of a cassette 50; a driving mechanism 81 for moving the carrier in the length direction of the cassette 50; a magnetic data detection part for detecting magnetic data of a money bar supported by the carrier and stored in the cassette by scanning; a checking means for comparing standard magnetic data of the money bar stored beforehand with the magnetic data detected by the magnetic data detection part, and checking the presence or non-presence of normal coin bars, and presence or non-presence of coin bars of a different denomination, and a remaining amount of the normal cons bars; and a speed changing means that, at the time of non-scanning of the magnetic data detection part, changes the speed of the carrier movement by the driving mechanism 81 to a higher one than at the time of scanning by the magnetic data detection part.
