PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inexpensive optical connector plug by fitting an energizing spring to a boot made of synthetic resin. SOLUTION: The optical connector plug includes: a holding metal fitting 1 for holding an optical fiber cable 10; a ferrule 13 for holding a coated optical fiber 10c; a plug frame 14 for holding the ferrule 13 and the holding metal fitting 1; a synthetic resin boot 11 which is fixed to the holding metal fitting 1 for covering and holding the periphery of the holding metal fitting 1; a fixed pinching and holding member 16 for covering the plug frame 14 and the boot 11; an outer case 20 which is fitted on the front end of the pinching and holding member 16, freely movable back and forth and engages with a counter part plug; a compression spring 23 which is provided between the outer case 20 and the boot 11 for energizing the outer case 20 forward; a slider part 18 which is freely movably mounted at the rear part of the outer case 20 and energized toward the outer case 20 side; and a shutter plate 22 which is fitted on the slider part 18 for shielding the front part of the plug frame 14.
