PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed detector of a dual mode vehicle having improved workability for inspection and adjustment for accurately detecting a speed without requiring the adjustment of the speed detector associated with the change of track width. SOLUTION: Among front iron wheels or rear iron wheels, the iron wheels (front iron wheels 31) near the longitudinal center of gravity of the body of the dual mode vehicle 1 are driving wheels, right and left front iron wheel brackets 30 for supporting each of the right and left front iron wheels 31a, 31b are disposed and the gap between the right and left driving iron wheel brackets 30 are made adjustable. Also, iron wheel driving mechanisms 10 for driving each of the front wheels 31a, 31b are disposed on each of the front iron wheel brackets, and on any one of the right and left front iron wheel brackets, a sensor 16 is disposed for detecting the revolution of the front iron wheel 31b supported by one of the driving iron wheel brackets 30. The configuration of the speed detector 15 is made simple by performing the revolution detection of the front wheel 31b by detection of a bolt 18 attached to a sprocket 13a attached to a wheel shaft 33 of the front iron wheel 31b.
