PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for determining the kinds of a number of ink cartridges by fewer number of sensors. SOLUTION: When an optical sensor 114 detects a trigger detection part 85 in a process wherein the ink cartridge 30 is mounted on a cartridge case 110, a control part 90 executes a first determination processing for determining whether an optical sensor 118 detects or not a cutout 78 of a kind determination part 77. When the optical sensor 114 does not detect the trigger detection part 85, the control part 90 executes a second determination processing for determining whether the optical sensor 118 detects or not the cutout 78 of the kind determination part 77. It also executes an ink amount determination processing based on that a light screening plate 62 of a sensor arm 60 of the ink cartridge 30 under a mounted condition is detected at least by one of the optical sensors 114 and 118.
