PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for motorizing a wheelchair which can motorize a manual wheelchair 1 and can easily be attached to a manual wheelchair 1. SOLUTION: An attaching part 16 to detachably store a front wheel part 8 is provided on the front wheel part 8 of a manual wheelchair 1. Driving wheels 20 for electrically driving the manual wheelchair 1 and following wheels 18 are provided on the attaching part 16.
