<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive for suppressing dry feeling when adding to a wheat flour or powder product such as bread and pancake, continuing and enhancing moist feeling, and retaining the feeling for a long time. <P>SOLUTION: This food moisturizing agent contains water-insoluble and/or water-swelling carboxymethylcellulose having 0.05-0.4 carboxymethyl substitution degree per glucose anhydride unit, or its salt. The carboxymethylcellulose is non-crystalline.
